As the Jets prepare to begin training camp, they got rid of one of their former top draft picks.
The Jets plan on waiving fourth-year wide receiver Denzel Mims on Wednesday if they are unable to find a trade partner first, according to sources.
The Jets have informed Mims they plan on releasing him and excused him from reporting to training camp with the rest of the team Wednesday.
If the Jets waive him Wednesday, he can be claimed on Thursday.
